Antarctica Cruise

Antarctica Cruise

Departures November through March
Join an IWA Antarctica cruise and explore the pristine wilderness of the Antarctica Peninsula as well as the sub-Antarctic islands of South Georgia and the Falklands. Massive icebergs, enormous seabird and penguin colonies and spectacular glaciers create one of the most exciting destinations on the planet!

On any Antarctica cruise , it's important to choose a ship that is not too large so that you have the best shore landing experience possible. While the wildlife is very tame and largely unbothered by our presence, smaller groups of fellow explorers provide for much more "connect time" with the animals and breathtaking environment,  and less time is spent getting off and on the ship from shore.

Our ships offer a variety of sturdy ice-strengthened expedition vessels of moderate size and range from comfortable, research vessel-style to luxury. Any IWA Antarctica cruise features top guides and lecturers and will endevour to spend the maximum time ashore, depending on conditions.

We provide several different Antarctica cruise itineraries ranging from shorter ones concentrating on the Antarctic Peninsula to longer voyages covering the Scotia Arc of the Falkland and South Georgia Islands. New for this season are Antarctic cruise explorations of the 'other side' of the continent: the Ross Sea area which begin in New Zealand.

Check them all out and give us a call if you have questions -- we'll be happy to help you pick the right Antarctica cruise for you!

Galapagos Islands Cruises

Galapagos Islands Cruises

Long known as the islands that sparked the idea of Darwin's Theory of Evolution, the Galapagos Islands off the coast of Ecuador are probably the world's best known wildlife destination.  The plants and animals here are found nowhere else on earth, and their legendary tameness allows you to observe and photograph them up close.

International Wildlife Adventures has hand-selected the best of the many ships that cruise the islands; our ships are smaller, so your transfers from the ship to the various destinations are much faster and as you explore, you're likely to see more animals and fewer people! Furthermore, all our ships have excellent environmental and safety records - we want to do our part to help preserve this unique destination.

Our trips include a bonus tour of Quito, a World Heritage city of colonial architecture and rich history.  As an option, you can add a day trip to the incomparable Otavalo Market, just north of Quito. You'll spend the night at one of Quito's best hotels, then fly to the Islands the following day for your Galapagos wildlife adventure.

Greenland

Greenland

The coastline of Greenland is spectacular. Heavily indented with numerous fjords, the coastline consists of spectacular high mountains, 2000 meters (6500 feet) high cliffs and innumerable glaciers. The large glaciers produce the huge, cathedral-like ice-bergs that are abundant in Greenlandic waters. The largest fjord is Scoresby Sund and is more than 300 kilometres (185 miles) long. Our voyages focus on East and North-East Greenland, among the most isolated, sparsely populated and scenically superb parts of the island.

Spitsbergen is famous in history for being the launching stage for numerous successful as well as failed attempts to the North Pole. On these Spitsbergen cruises you'll visit some of the very bases used by explorers such as Amundsen and Perry.

Our Spitsbergen cruises offer three ships of expedition quality: ice-strengthened hulls, superb expedition staff and crews experienced in polar navigation.

Please note: The North Spitsbergen itinerary is three nights shorter than the Around Spitsbergen voyage, but otherwise follow a similar itinerary as the 10 night/11 day Spitsbergen cruises. The itinerary aboard the M/S Expedition will also attempt a circumnavigation of Spitsbergen similar to Around Spitsbergen. The exact itinerary of both itineraries is dependent on ice conditions.
