Australia Cruise | The Art of Arnhem Land

For an unusual Australian holiday, set sail from the cosmopolitan city of Darwin on Australia's north coast along with some preeminent collectors of Australia's indigenous art. On this seven night cruise you will explore in depth the remote art communities along Australia's Arnhem Land coastline. It is a perfect voyage for both  experienced and novice collectors.

Antarctica Cruise | New Zealand to Macquarie Island

This is a cruise designed for nature lovers who want to visit a secluded and seldom visited area of unique biodiversity - the Australian and New Zealand sub-Antarctic Islands. These remote Nature Reserves are a World Heritage site, valued for their volcanic and glacial geological formations and extraordinary diversity of endangered (and recovering) flora and fauna which was plundered in the late 1700's and early 1800's by sealers and whalers.
The area is home to over half of the world's seabirds, some of which exist nowhere else.  This wildlife paradise contains 40% of the world's albatross species and 50% of the world's penguin species including the endangered yellow-eyed penguin, plus hundreds of thousands of other endemic birds, including petrels, prions and cormorants.  Our cruise takes us to Snares Island, where we are likely to see Sooty Shearwaters, the endemic Snares Crested Penguins, Snares Fernbird and Tomtits. On Enderby Island expect to see pipits, parakeets and plovers, Hooker's Sea Lions, and perhaps even the Auckland Island Flightless Teal and sub-Antarctic Snipe. Campbell Island, home to the Southern Royal Albatrosses, has the highest diversity of breeding albatrosses of any island in the world.

New Zealand Cruise | Pure New Zealand

Orion will explore the amazing landscape of New Zealand's North and South Islands. From the natural beauty of Milford Sound to the safe haven and rejuvenating landscape of Marlborough Sounds and the mystical aura of New Zealand's only active marine volcano White Island. You'll see majestic mountains and waterfalls that spill from the towering cliffs as well as abundant wildlife on New Zealand's southern islands.

World Heritage listed Fiordland is considered one of the most dramatic and beautiful parts of New Zealand. This voyage is renowned for seal and dolphin viewing and there will be the opportunity for both from either Orion or our Zodiacs.

Whether trekking through the bird lover's paradise of Motuara Island or donning a safety suit to clamber over fascinating White Island, with boiling pools, potholes of sulphuric acid and steam vents, the Orion expedition around New Zealand is always surprising, always exciting – like stepping into a real life Lord of the Rings movie.

Australia Cruise | Tropical Reefs and Culture of Australia

Orion's exploration of the world famous Great Barrier Reef takes you to the most pristine and unspoilt areas of this Marine Park. Discover the rich diversity of the Torres Strait Islander people at the Gab Titui Cultural Centre on Thursday Island with fascinating historical and cultural artefacts and tools, as well as modern and traditional art.

Explore picturesque Stanley Island, known as Yindayan. Local Aboriginal guides will share the legends, history and culture of the area as well as showing off delicious bush tucker and stunning 'first contact' rock art.

Cultural exploits combine with the sheer pleasure of swimming and diving in these turquoise waters. Journey to far northern waters, an unnamed area, which we have christened Orion Reef. One of the most diverse snorkelling areas on the Great Barrier Reef, pristine and seldom visited, alive with corals and teeming with tropical fish.

On secluded Boydong Island, magic snorkelling is followed by a beach barbecue, sea kayaking and guided walks. Unspoilt Lizard Island rises from the blue waters north of Cooktown. Snorkelers are rewarded with coral gardens, brightly coloured tropical fish and giant clams, pristine beaches with perfect white sand sloping gently away from the shore.
