Blackbird is one of Belize's premier, best-established offshore dive and snorkel resorts, located on a delightful 167-acre island on Turneffe Atoll. It's personal, private and relaxing: only 18 air-conditioned cabañas, all with front porches which face the water. Perfect for kicking back with a Belikin beer after a long day of diving, snorkeling, kayaking or beachcombing.

Your vacation begins when you are met by our resort staff at the Belize International Airport for a short ride to our dock. There you will board our fast, 50-foot vessel, Big Bird, for the spectacular 32-mile trip to Blackbird Caye Resort.

Sip on complimentary sodas and Belizean beer as we weave through coconut palm-dotted mangrove islands, to the great Belize Barrier Reef, the second largest in the world. The short hour and a half trip is both exciting and scenic. When you arrive, toss the shoes, dig your toes in the sand, meet our friendly staff and learn about what you can do during your stay.

There is something at Blackbird Caye Resort for everyone: scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and more. You can be as busy as you like, or slow down and read a book, or put in some serious hammock time under a coconut tree.

Diving & Snorkeling
Blackbird Caye Resort offers true world class diving. The diving sites are considered some of the best in the Western Caribbean. Turneffe Atoll is the only Caribbean Atoll made up of dozens of mangrove islands which are the juvenile nurseries for coral reefs. It also means many schools of fish. There are 70+ dive sites located near the caye with an average time of 12 minutes to reach them. If you sign up for the diving package, you'll get three dives per day of superb diving.

Where there's good diving, there's often good snorkeling and Blackbird is no exception. You can just swim offshore from your cabana or take the two (included in the snorkel package) guided snorkel trips per day to outstanding patch reefs just minutes away from the resort.

Serious Hammock Time
Seriously. Enjoy the Robinson Crusoe-style splendid islolation under the coconut palms on one of Belize's best outer islands, Blackbird Caye. It won't take long to put the world in perspective!

Sailing
We maintain small Sailfish sailboats for sailing the tradewinds around the island. Take the kids and teach them to sail. Pretend you're Columbus (he DID come to these waters, after all!), or Blackbeard (he did too). Or, just take one by yourself and enjoy the solitude and cool sea spray as you skitter around the island.

Kayaking
Sit-on-top kayaks are available for exploring the nooks and crannies of the island's mangrove lagoons.

All packages include airport reception, boat transfers, standard cabana, meals, and use of hammocks and kayaks.

Not Included:
Package prices do not include airfare, bar drinks (soft drinks and alcoholic beverages), hotel taxes, gratuities, dive/snorkel equipment rental, Blue Hole trip and a $40 marine reserve fee for the Blue Hole.

Blue Hole add-on $150 per person based on minimum of 6 plus park fee of $40 per person.

Blackbird Resort sits on two miles of jungle and beach nestled among hundreds of coconut trees. The resort holds 36 guests based on double occupancy. All of the units have air-conditioning, private bathrooms with hot and cold water, daily maid service and electricity that runs at 110 volts, 24-hours a day.

Choose from the following lodging options:

Standard Cabanas
Enjoy an oceanfront private, air-conditioned cabanas with private porch and swinging hammock cooled by natural trade winds, facing the eastern Caribbean Sea. Each cabana has a ceiling fan, one or two beds, nightstand and closet area. Some cabanas have sitting areas. The baths are modern and equipped with hot showers.

Deluxe Cabanas
The newly constructed deluxe cabanas are more spacious than the standard units. Each suite has a private bedroom with king bed, ceiling fan and air-conditioning unit. The living room has chairs, loveseat and table as well as mini-refrigerator, making it great for entertaining or relaxing. These oceanfront cabanas have a fabulous porch with hammock and chairs.

Duplex/Triplex
The Triplex features a huge shared front porch facing the Caribbean Sea. Each of the three private rooms is air-conditioned and has a private bath and two double beds. These units are perfect for families and groups.

The Dining Area
At the front of the main dock is our huge palapa syle restaurant and lounge area. Fresh island cuisine is prepared with native foods by our chef and served by a gracious staff, friendly and eager to serve you.

Breakfast and lunch are served buffet style with something for everyone. Afternoon snacks are served by the bar or in the dining palapa. Dinner is served to you at your table with usually a choice between two of the following: meat, chicken or fish. Your evening meal is complete with home-made dessert. Coffee, tea, juices and water are available all day. We can cater to any special dietary needs with advance notice.
