duPlooy's is a small, intimate, family-run jungle lodge on the banks of the clear, cool Macal River, where visitors feel relaxed in friendly surroundings. There are plenty of activities right on the premises - swimming in the waters of the river, relaxing on a beautiful sandy beach, canoeing, horseback riding or visiting the adjacent Belize Botanic Gardens. Bird watching can be done in a civilized fashion right from duPlooy's deck with its 200 feet canopied walkway; from the bird blind in the Belize Botanic Gardens; walking leisurely about the property; or on guided hikes.

Off the property, you can choose from one of the many tours we offer to Guatemala's famed Tikal, Belize's many ruins: Caracol, Xunantunich, El Pilar and Cahal Pech. Cave exploration is a must -- some of the caves have ancient Mayan artifacts and burials in them! When you visit duPlooy's, don't forget to schedule enough time to enjoy the property - Belize Botanic Gardens, birdwatching, swimming and canoeing on the Macal River, riding horses through the countryside and a relaxing massage from our Tree Top Therapist, Ivy.

Belize Mayan Sites
Visits to Belize's top Mayan archeological sites such as Xunantunich, El Pilar, Cahal Pech and the Chechemha Cave.

Canoeing & Kayaking
Choices of multiple, exciting river kayaking and canoeing destinations: Mopan River, San Ignacio, Flour Camp Cave, and more.

Horseback Riding
The surrounding forest and mountains provide miles of trails to explore.

Cave Tours
This region of Belize is underlain by karst limestone, resulting in countless caves. A few of the larger caves, Chechemha, Rio Frio, Barton Creek and Flour Camp harbor ancient Mayan artifacts and provide the opportunity to float through parts of them by inner tube.

Other Tours by Road
Choose from a long list of destinations to explore by road, such as Laguan Aguacate and Spanish Lookout, Caves Branch, Big Rock Falls and border shopping at the Guatemala border.

La Casita
A two-story house with a king sized bed, double futon, and wrap-around porch with hammocks on each floor. Bathroom with jacuzzi upstairs, and large bathtub downstairs. Perfect for families or friends traveling together. Extra beds available, sleeps up to 8 people.

The Belize River House
The Belize River House features the Macal River Suite (3 bedrooms) and Mopan River Suites (4 bedrooms), each suite has 2 bathrooms, a living room, and a porch. These suites can be rented separately for smaller groups and families, or as a whole house for larger groups.

Jungle Lodge Rooms
Our original rooms, set side by side in groups of three, are very spacious and comfortable. Each room has two queen-sized beds, private bath, and screened porch with hammock. Sleeps 2 - 4 very comfortably.
