Machu Picchu Tours: Hike the Inca Trail
Hike the Inca Trail is for those looking for more active Machu Picchu tours. It allows you to experience the trek made by countless thousands of ancient Incans prior to Spanish contact more than 500 years ago.
The Inca Trail is still largely paved with the original stones and you travel past stunning scenery and many ruins. The trail begins at the edge of the highlands and takes you all the way to the cloud forests and lofty pinnacles surrounding the sacred site of Machu Picchu. It is a challenging walk, but our guides and porters take care of hauling food and camp supplies, leaving you to enjoy the changing, breathtaking scenery.
Reaching Machu Picchu as the old ones did via the Inca Trail, you will have a deeper understanding and appreciation of the ancient Incas and their sacred world.

The Amazonian Rainforest: Sacha Lodge
Sacha Lodge is located in the midst of awe-inspiring primary rainforest two miles from one of the main tributaries in the upper Amazon River basin, the Rio Napo, on the bank of a deep, clear lake. Large networks of foot and canoe trails are available for exploration in this 3,200 acre private reserve. More than 500 species of birds are found in this primal rainforest, making it a Mecca for serious birders. A 130-foot observation tower and a 940-foot canopy walkway provide a stunning view of the rainforest and are two of the best ways to view wildlife.
Sacha Lodge is one of the newest and best Amazonian lodges on the river. It provides comfortable, screened-in huts, made with thatched roofs and local materials. All units have hot showers, toilets and running water. The food is excellent and the full bar is great place to relax at the end of an exciting day of jungle exploration and wildlife spotting. Sacha's superb, well-trained guides are both indigenous and non-indigenous, and multi-lingual.
Sacha Lodge is an excellent add-on to one of our Galapagos cruises, or it can be booked as a great stand-alone exploration of the world's greatest rainforest..
