This hotel and lodge-based tour gives a full over-view of the splendor and richness of this diverse country: the archaeological wonders of Cuzco and Machu Picchu, the rainforest of the Amazon, and the bird and marine life of the Peruvian coast.
Day 1: Arrive Lima
Arrival in Lima and transfer to Hotel Leon de Oro.

Day 2: Arrive Iquitos
Transfer to airport, fly to Iquitos, transfer to your hotel. Day and evening on own to explore Iquitos.

Day 3: Iquitos to Explorama Lodge
Transfer to the Explorama Dock for your 50 mile journey down the Amazon River to Explorama Lodge. You will have an afternoon hike along the ihLake Trailli through lowland rainforest which is seasonally flooded.

Day 4: Explorama Lodge
Morning hike along the 'Bushmaster Trailla'. This area is known for its biodiversity of trees and native plants that are used as remedies by local people. The afternoon will be a canoe trip in search of the two species of freshwater dolphin.

Day 5: Explorama Lodge - ExplorNapo Lodge
After breakfast, a boat ride down the Amazon and up the Napo to the 250,000 acre Amazon Rainforest Reserve. An evening excursion along the Sucusari Stream in search of caiman and to enjoy the jungle night sounds.

Day 6: ExplorNapo Lodge
Morning hike to the Canopy Walkway, a suspended bridge spanning 500 meters and the tree platforms are about 115 feet above the forest floor. In the afternoon, we will go to the black water oxbow lake where the elusive Hoatzin bird may be spotted.

Day 7: ExplorNapo to Ceiba Tops
Morning boat excursions to Napo tributaries spotting sloth, birding and fishing for piranha. We will get a chance to see local river people called i™±riberenosla.

Morning visit to Yagua Indian Community to purchase native crafts. Afternoon hike to the remote surrounding rainforests.

Day 9: Ceiba Tops/ Iquitos/Lima
You can have a boat ride or hike or just relax in the hammocks before your departure to Lima. On arrival in Lima, transfer to Leon de Oro for overnight.

Arrival in Lima and transfer to Hotel Leon de Oro.
