When most people think of Zibabwe, Victoria Falls heads the list of must-see spots. But Zimbabwe is much, much more than these great iconic falls. Blessed with wildlife populations rivaling most anyplace in Africa and great safari lodges as well, Zimbabwe offers safari-goers a top wildlife destination. 

This trip offers white water rafting, local school presentations with children singing their songs, game drives, sundowners, picnic lunches in the bush and nature walks.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Victoria Falls

On arrival at Victoria Falls Airport, you will be met by our representative who will assist you with your luggage (extra can be taken to Gorges) before helping you board your flight to Hwange National Park into Bomani's private airstrip (approx 1 hour).  Lunch will be served on arrival and then followed by a short walk or siesta.

Experience your first game into Hwange National Park to enjoy sundowners and canapés by one of the semi dry lake beds known as Pans to watch as animals wonder in.  Night drive back to the lodge to freshen up before dinner out under the stars. Overnight Bomani Lodge (L,D)

Day 2: Hwange National Park - game drives

The day starts with an early morning game drive and walk in Hwange National Park's acacia forests that is surrounded by  the Ngamo Plain. Return to Bomani in time for brunch and a nap. Or you can spend a few hours in the blind overlooking the watering hole watching for birds and game.

Afternoon game drive includes sundowners and snacks at Major Pan. The evening begins with a night drive back to the lodge where you have time for a shower before joining others near campfire where refreshments and snacks are served before dinner  while you listen to the sounds of the African bush. Overnight Bomani Lodge (B,L,D)

 Day 3: Mfagazaan Pan - game drives

After breakfast, the day starts  early with a one of a kind all day trip into the park on our 'pump run' where a packed picnic lunch will be enjoyed followed by siestas under the trees at Mfagazaan Pan. 

A leisurely afternoon is spent driving back to the lodge going from Pan to Pan viewing game along the way. Evening is spent enjoying a campfire where refreshments are served before dinner in the main lodge dining room. Overnight Bomani Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 4: Ngamo Village - game drives

The morning starts with a village and school visit at Ngamo Village.  You'll have a tour of Imvelo's Community projects before returning to Bomani for a delicious brunch, followed by either down time or an hour or two in the watering hole blind.

Afternoon walk or game drive going from Pan to Pan to enjoy the variety of wildlife.  Evening drive back to Bomani for in time to enjoy a campfire, refreshments, snacks that will followed by dinner. Overnight Bomani Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 5: Zambezi River

Rise early for a walk to see the best wildlife viewing followed by breakfast in the main lodge area.Transfer tot he air strip for the flight across Hwange National Park to Victoria Falls Airport where you will be met by the Gorges shuttle for a road transfer to Gorges Lodge.

After you settle in and have lunch, off you go  to town for your Sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River, returning to Gorges Lodge for a lovely dinner in the main lodge dining room overlooking the gorge with its amazing views. Overnight Gorges Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 6: Elephant Back Safari

Rise early to watch the sun come up as you drink your tea or coffee on your private veranda followed by breakfast overlooking the gorge before catching the lodge shuttle to your Elephant Back Safari. Return to Gorges for a late lunch.

After lunch, the shuttle will take you into town for a tour of Victoria Falls and there is time for shopping  before returning  to Gorges Lodge for sundowners on the deck and another great dinner out under the stars. Overnight Gorges Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 7: White Water Rafting & Nature Sanctuary

Watch the sun rise again before breakfast and your white water rafting activity. Lunch will be waiting for you at Gorges on your return before an afternoon visit to the Nature Sanctuary and Crocodile Farm.  Transfer back to Gorges for an evening swim before sundowners overlooking the gorge followed by a delicious meal in the main lodge dining room. Overnight Gorges Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 8: Victoria Falls - Home 

Enjoy an assembly at the local school where the children will preform an assembly singing their favorite songs before then returning to Gorges for breakfast.  Depart on your road transfer to Victoria Falls Airport to catch your departing flight home. (B)

Cancellation Policy: In the event you must cancel your reservation, refunds will be made according to the following schedule: Deposit is non-refundable. 90 to 61 days prior to departure, 50% of total is non-refundable; less than 60 days prior to departure, 100% non-refundable.

Insurance: Because many advance logistical arrangements have been made prior to the running of this trip, we must adhere to the above policy. Cancellation/medical evacuation is required per person. An application form will be sent to you upon deposit, or you may purchase it on your own. Because of the remote location, emergency medical evacuation insurance is required. Please check your personal insurance coverage and make sure it is applicable in foreign countries. Emergency medical evacuation insurance is a component of the insurance program IWA offers.
