These six day tours are offered in July and August when the Churchill River is full of hundreds of beluga whales who move into the warm shallow waters to give birth and feed on small fish. These curious and friendly whales provide wildlife lovers with a memorable experience. Observe the whales by zodiac and by kayak (additional fee), or join them in the water for an unforgettable snorkeling experience (additional fee applies).
On the flowering tundra, explore the protected Churchill Wildlife Management area by Tundra Buggy for a chance to see summer wildlife including fox, caribou, wolves, and moose as well as nesting birds. Often, you will also see the first of the polar bears as they migrate into the area.
Other highlights of this trip include a city tour of Winnipeg, and visits to the Eskimo Museum and Parks Canada in Churchill.
Participants are limited to a maximum of 22, ensuring window seats for everyone on the Tundra Buggy.
For a slightly less expensive tour, the Adventurer offers almost the same activities as the Enthusiast package (no Winnipeg city tour) and most meals are not included. Participants are limited to a maximum of 40.
