La Selva Lodge La Selva Lodge

"Combine La Selva Amazon Ecolodge and Spa with a Galapagos Cruise!" La Selva is a perfect add-on to one of our Galapagos cruises, or it can be booked as a great stand-alone exploration of the world's greatest rainforest. Contact our office and we'll help you arrange all the details! La Selva is located in the midst of awe-inspiring primary rainforest two miles from one of the main tributaries in the upper Amazon River basin, the Rio Napo, on the bank of a deep, clear lake.

La Selva supports the Pilchi community by paying them monthly wages for local work while working closely with the local community to guide them in sustainable organic farming with a goal of purchasing 80% of the local farm produce for the lodge.

More than 500 species of birds are found in this primal rainforest, making it a Mecca for serious birders.

Local well-trained guides are both indigenous and non-indigenous, and multi-lingual. They are adept at finding the birds and other wildlife, as well as providing in-depth knowledge of the rainforest and the medicinal value of its plants.

Days 2-3 (4): La Selva Eco Lodge. Our expert guides give an extensive overview of interrelationship of the plants, arthropods, birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals that make up this remarkable ecosystem.

Each morning wake up time will depend on the days activites.  You choose from trail hikes to the lake where you will might see large troops of squirrel monkeys, a large variety of birds, canoe trips, observation tower, parrot clay lick, canoe trips, and night walks to see the nocturnal animals or an early morning yoga session on the new deck.

The forest is filled with birdlife - more than 500 species. Toucans and macaws are some of the more colorful ones, and you can visit the Yasuni parrot lick a short distance from the lodge where flocks of parrots gather to eat mineral-rich clay banks along the Napo River. Fully remodeled, in 2012, award-winning La Selva Jungle Lodge is one of the best eco lodges in the Ecuadorian rainforest.

Situated on Garzacocha Lake, wildlife is abundant, and birdwatching is exceptional. the Napo Parrot Salt Lick is close, meaning there are more bird species in the area than anywhere else in Ecuador, and more than in the entire US and Canada combined.

Stroll along an easy trail close to the lodge at any hour of the day to spot wildlife as well as unusual kapok and strangler fig trees. Across the river sits the Yasuni National Park, one of the most famous parks in the Amazon Basin.

The breezy, stylish cabanas are inspired by native designs. Many have jacuzzis, rainforest showers and lake views. The sounds of the rainforest soothe you to sleep at night, and the singing of birds awaken you in the morning.
