Cruise the Enchanted Islands aboard the Galapagos Seaman Journey, a power catamaran built specifically for navigating the islands.  Your 7 - 11 day Galapagos package starts with two nights in Quito, Ecuador, the World Heritage city that sits high in the Andes. You will stay at the La Rabida or similar, located near Old Town in this historic city. The day after your arrival, you're invited on a complimentary guided half day city tour of Quito. As an alternative, add on a day trip to the world famous enormous Otavalo Market where you can shop for high quality hand crafted items. 

On the third day, you'll fly from Quito to Baltra or San Cristobel, depending on your itinerary. There, you'll board the Seaman Journey. She offers comfortable accommodations in 6 twin bed cabins on the main deck and two suite cabins on the upper deck. Galapagos Seaman Journey has been awarded Smart Voyager certification, ensuring that the boat complies with the highest levels of social and environmental standards.

You'll cruise through the Galapagos, then return to Quito, where you'll have another night to enjoy the rich culture of this South American city.

Itinerary:

We offer various Galapagos trips aboard the Galapagos Seaman Journey, ranging from 7 to 18 days. Some trips of the same length follow different itineraries. Following are several itineraries for the popular 7, 8, or 11 day trips.  All trips begin in Quito and include your hotel and a city tour. From there you will fly to either Baltra or San Cristobal, depending on your itinerary, and begin your cruise aboard Galapagos Seaman Journey. Please contact our office for details and availability of other itineraries.

Quito, situated in a circle of mountainous peaks, is the world's second highest capital and has one of the most magnificent settings in the world. Designated as a UN World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1978, Quito boasts one of the finest colonial centers in Latin America. Spend a half-day with your private guide exploring the spectacular city.

The Otavalo Indian Market Day Trip
Otavalo is the most famous Indian market in Ecuador and much of South America: ponchos, exquisite sweaters, wool rugs, leatherwork, wooden goods, and Indian jewelry are sold here. The Otavalo Indians, for whom the town is named, cling proudly to their ancient culture and mode of dress. This is a must see visit. Optional day trip pricing $225 per person based on two traveling.

Package prices are USD and include: Three nights hotel accomodations in Quito, airport transfers, Quito city tour, cruise, meals while on cruise, use of snorkeling equipment and kayaks, and all guide services. 

Not included: Round trip airfare to and from Galapagos, park entrance fee, transit fee, gratuities, airport departure taxes, visas or passports, laundry or personal items while on the ship, wetsuit rental, alcoholic beverages, air fare to and from your home, and travel insurance. Surcharge over Christmas and New Year trips. 

Round trip air to Galapagos from Quito or Guayaquil, park entrance fee and transit fee is $645 per person, subject to change.  

Single supplements: Prices are based on double occupancy. The single supplement is 75% over the cruise rate.

The Otavalo Indian Market Day Trip

This day-long outing includes: a scenic three-hour drive from Quito, morning at Otavalo market, visit to the famous leatherwork village of Cotacachi, and a stop for lunch at beautiful Hacienda Cusin or similar.

Price: $225 per person based on 2 traveling. 

All prices per person, based on double occupancy.

Tour Details

Deposit: 25% per person non-refundable deposit due at time of booking. 

Cancellation Policy: Non-refundable balance due 90 days prior to travel dates. 

Insurance: Because many advance logistical arrangements have been made prior to the running of this trip, we must adhere to the above policy. In addition, please be aware that many insurance policies do not cover illness and accident expenses outside of the U.S., and Medicare does NOT cover any such expenses at all. In light of this, we strongly recommend trip cancellation and supplemental insurance.

A travel insurance quote will be sent to you upon registration. Our insurance carrier is Travel Guard.

Seaman Journey is a power catamaran boat built in Guayaquil, Ecuador in 2006 specifically for Galapagos travel. Stable, spacious, and fast, Seaman Journey  is an excellent choice for travelers who want a quality Galapagos experience at an affordable price.
Accomodations consist of 6 twin bed cabins (14 m2 / 151 sft) on the main deck and 2 suite cabins (18 m2 / 193 sft) on the upper deck. All cabins offer great ocean views, and are air conditioned with private baths. Common areas include a sundeck, library, TV-DVD room, dining room,  bar and lounge and a Jacuzzi.
